Christmas time is here

Just a small post for now just cause its really late night and I'm supposed to be waking up at around 9 to go shopping with Christine tomorrow. I heard that theres gonna be like, alot of really really good sales going on tomorrow so I wanna check it out. I don't really need to buy anything but just in case I see something I like I'll pick it up. I'm not really worried about doing late Christmas gift shopping though because I'm broke haha and everyone knows that. I'm just going to buy everyone a Lottery ticket for Christmas and let luck decide what people get haha.

Well for Christmas today I went out to my grandparents house and had a typical time there. Nothing really special happened there; we basically just sat around all day and watched the basketball game. (Go Lakers!)

(yeah not many people know this, but I'm actually really into sports. Alot of people talk to me as if I don't know a thing about sports but I've been watching all types of sports since I was a little baby and I know alot more than the average person knows so yeah, another random fact about me)

Well for Christmas this year I actually got alot of really cool presents. My parents got me a new camera (yay!) and a sound dock for my I-Pod which I probably wont use since thats what my laptop is for. Christine got me a really cool scarf that I use all the time cause its warm. And lastly my cousin Randy got me for secret santa for the cousins this year, and he got me this red and black checkered hoodie and its hella clean so yeah, I got alot of really cool stuff this year. Thanks all.

You know, now that I got the camera, I can start doing like, videos of myself and stuff for this blog. I'll see what happens in the times to come.

Catch 25

So the name of this game is to just name off 25 random facts about yourself that you don't think anyone else knows. Alot of my friends on facebook have been tagging me in their notes about this thing so I decided I might as well do it myself. Also it would be a good way to get a few more people to at least look at my blog haha.

1. My hair is naturally curly. Alot of people think I style it or do something fancy to it in the morning to make it stick up, but in reality all I do is just swoop my hands through my hair once in the morning and i'm good to go.

2. The scar on the right side of my face is from back when I was a toddler. I accidentally ran into a wooden desk and it gave me this cut. Whenever people ask me about it though, I usually just tell them I got into a knife fight and some guy cut me.

3. I'm missing 5 teeth. I got 4 wisdom teeth pulled (they were growing in horizontally) and I knocked out a tooth playing basketball back in elementary school. Think is, if I hadn't gotten that tooth knocked out, I would have had to get braces.

4. I now buy girls pants. I used to buy guys pants, but they're more expensive that girls pants, and also girls pants fit better on me. So yeah if you wanna buy me pants, go with size 3-5 haha.

5. One of the things I don't like about myself is that I bite my nails. My fingernails look horrible and I always hate showing my fingers to anyone. I just get really embarrassed, and I really wanna kick this habit so yeah if you see me biting my nails just yell at me or smack me.

6. My vision is actually better than average so yeah. Normal vision is 20/20, and my vision is 15/20.

7. The name I most commonly go by online is Love en Grey. I got this name from a band caled Dir en Grey, and Dir sounds like Die, and one of the opposites of death to be is Love, so I just made Love en Grey.

8. Even though I dress all in dark colors and I look like an emo person, I'm really not, and if you talk to me you'll find that I'm just a bundle of smiles.

9. My music tastes are actually changing away from J-Rock. I'm starting to listen to it less and less and I'm starting to listen to more hip hop and post rock indie type stuff.

10. I've always had this urge to get my ears gauged. I wanna get the holes big enough so that I can keep a pencil or a pen in there, so that when someone asks me for a pencil in class, I can just pull one out my ear.

11. I really realy hate driving. I only do it because its convienient for me because then I can leave at any time I want to. The only time I actually enjoy driving is when its in the middle of the night and nobodys on the road and I can just drive as fast as I want to.

12. Ive gone through a repetoire of instruments in my lifetime. I first started playing the recorder in elemtary school (didn't we all?), and then I moved to the steel drums (used to know the little mermaid song on them), and after that I went to violin but I found violin to be boring (cause its the most depressing sounding instrument) and I finally ended up at trumpet. I stopped playing trumpet as soon as I got out of elementary school because I never practiced (because practicing is boring if your playing an instrument like trumpet). After that I didn't pick up an instrument until I found guitar (only started playing to get girls. . . ) and I started that sophmore year of high school. I've since included bass and drums into my instruments so yeah. My current favorite is bass though just because its so fun to play.

13. I actually have a life list of stuff to do before I die. Alot of it is like normal stuff, like visiting Australia and Japan, but there are a few odd ones out there. Such as swimming in a pool filled with jello and getting shot with a gun.

14. I'm one of the few people that you'll actually see use semi-colons in casual conversation; I'm only saying this cause of Ronnie haha.

15. Ive performed two surgeries on myself over the years, probably because I have no qualms about being around blood and I can also handle pain. Once was when I cut into a blister and removed a rock from it that had been in my skin for a few months, and the other time was when I took a pair of scissors and cut off a wart on my hand and then used a knife to carve out the remaining stuff.

16. I might piss a few people off with this one, but I'm not religious at all; in fact I'm actually against most forms of religion and one of my major pet peeves is when people preach their religion to me or when they use God as an excuse for everything. I'm sorry, but it is not God's fault that I have such a good life right now; I like to put that blame on myself. And stop telling me I'm going to hell. If your religion won't accept a non-believer that leads a good life into your "heaven", then your religion is fucked up. I choose to believe what I want to believe.

17. When I own my house, I'm going to personally design two of the rooms myself. One room is going to be a music room, and yes, no matter where I live, I'm going to have a music room where I can do whatever I want to. Theres gonna be an assortment of instruments there and the wall paper is going to be record covers. The other room is going to be my kids room, and its gonna be a pretty simple design but I want the wall paper to be pages out of Dr. Seuss books. That'd be pretty cool to have all the old books we used to read on the walls.

18. My ankles are actually pretty weak from years of skateboarding. This is why I kinda hate it when people kick the back of my feet or stuff like that. It kinda hurts me a bit more than it hurts other people I think.

19. I can live off of cereal. Seriously. Last year there were days where I didn't eat anything except for cereal. Frosted mini wheats and honey bunches of oats = crazy delicious.

20. The true me comes out when I'm hyper and full of sugar and caffeine. Only a few people have seen me in this state but I usually just jump around alot and yell and point at random things and I can't sit still.

21. I didn't used to think this way, but I'm starting to hate things that are really childish. I don't know if its just me growing more mature or if a part of my humor just died.

22. I'm really into webcomics. Like seriously, ive been reading webcomics religiously for over 2 years now and I check them everyday before I sleep. Its part of the reason I stay up so late, because alot of em update at midnight.

23. One of the things I really like doing is looking at the stars. If you ever see me at the night, I'll usually be look up to the sky. Its just really calming I guess.

24. Beneath this facade of myself, I acually have alot of problems that I hate myself for having. Its all stuff in the past but I still can't get over myself for doing it.

25. I'm actually pretty far away from my family, contrary to normal filipino people. On my dad's side I haven't seen my cousins for at least 5 years, probably longer. On my moms side, I see my cousins like twice a year and I don't really hang out with them much.

Yay I actually thought of 25 things. I didn't think I could do that but wooo I did. I hope some of you tagged facebookers enjoyed reading this.

Why is it so cold?

Yay for more than one post in a week? See now that I have more time I can actually update this more. Then again, I'm updating this while lying in bed at about 1:30 at night so yeah, most people have free time around this time.

Well yesterday I had a pretty interesting day I suppose. The plan was to meet up at 12 to eat some pho, then head over to Oakland for some ice skating, then go back to my old high school for the show choir Winter Concert. And yeah thats pretty much what happened. I drove around and picked up Andy, Jessica, and Ada and we met up at Pac East mall to eat some pho. To be honest, after living in Hayward for a few years now, the pho places out here in San Pablo are pretty crappy. If you compare the dishes here to the ones in Hayward, the ones here are lacking something. When you take that first bite into some pho at like, Red Chili's, you just get that feeling in you that the food is so good that you're gonna finish it. I didn't get that feeling when I was eating at Pac East yesterday.

Well after pho we decided to drive to Oakland for some ice skating. I didn't really want to drive there since I didn't know how to get there but yeah we eventually found it. Parking was pretty terrible though; had to park at a meter that was kinda far away and it was kinda expensive also. Tell me why it takes 25 cents to park a car for 10 minutes. Yet another reason why I don't like driving. Ice skating itself wasn't too bad though. I kinda fell down the most times ive ever fallen in recent ice skating outings. They had just gotten done resurfacing the ice, so it was all slippery when we got on. It was kinda insane how slippery the ice was. I was literally sliding sideways on the ice, which later on became pretty cool because I found out that if you pick up enough speed and go around one of the turns, you can slide sideways and its kinda like ice skating drifting haha. Fun stuff.

Well after that we decided to go to Barnes and Noble since we had alot of time to kill since it was only like 4 and the Winter Concert started at 7. Well I had no idea how to get out of Oakland, so as usual, I got lost haha. It also didn't help that me, Andy and Jessica were playing a car game so my attention wasn't 100% on getting back home. The goal of the game was to spot words that started with sequential letters of the Alphabet and whoever gets to Z first wins. And the driver of the car actually won, which says alot about how much I pay attention to the road when i'm driving. Hopefully I'm not scaring anyone away from riding in the car with me. I don't like driving lonely haha.

Well we finally got back to Pinole and we made it to Barnes and Noble (although I made a bit of a detour and picked up a Sweet Tea at mickey d's). Then we ate dinner at McD's and I had chicken nuggets for the first time in hella years. Good stuff haha but hella calories. Its all good though. Wow I really needa cut out on eating so much fast food. Ive gained like 10 pounds this year. I went from like 120ish to 130ish. Not necesarrily a bad thing because ive always been underweight, but yeah this isn't the kind of weight that I want to gain. Guess its just time to start working out. Anyone up to go running?

Well we finally got back to my ghetto ass high school for the winter concert. I guess the high point of going back to my old school is seeing my old friends back there, because I was pretty close with alot of the underclassmen back at my old school and the freshmen when I was a senior are now seniors in their own regard so wow, makes me feel a smidge old. It was really good seeing people like Ruth and Eugene again because I get to see them only like once a year.

As for the concert itself, geez it wasn't all that great. I'm going to sound like a typical alumni here, and I don't even know if my opinion should matter because its not like I was ever in acapella or show choir or anything like that, but wow the quality of the conservatory has gone down. The kids siging in the Acapella choir looked like they were dead. More than half of them looked like they either hadn't gotten enough sleep, were too cool to be singing, or had no idea what the lyrics were. They also added a guitar class thsi year so I was kinda excited about seeing them perform, but wow it sounded like a 1st grade elementary school class. What they played that night, I could have taught someone to play in a day. They had a whole quarter to learn their stuff yet they could only play like single note stuff, and when they did play something a little harder then everyone except the kids in the front row (who you could tell already know how to play guitar before the class cause they got that typical rocker look), would put their guitars down and not play. Show choir was alright though. They do have alot of talent there but I guess they just need a few more months to get it together even more.

Well after the concert, we went to Jessica's house to go play some rock band and that was hella fun, because rock band is never not fun haha. I love playing drums but yeah I needa work up my foot muscles for that bass drum. But yeah after that I just went home and slept haha. Feels good to finally be able to sleep in, even though Ive been staying in bed till like 2pm everyday haha. Thats pretty bad but yeah its all good though.

Well the reason this post is title'd why is it so cold is because its been super freezing lately. What's been going on with the weather? We live in California and its freezing like we're living on the east coast. I was wearing two sweaters yesterday and I still felt the icey winter breeze pierce through to my skin. It was almost as cold last night as it was when I was ice skating. This just isn't right. The only thing that would make all this coldness worthwhile is if I woke up the next morning and it was snowing. That'd be pretty interesting haha. But yeah till next time.

yeah its been awhile hasn't it?

Yeah its been awhile hasn't it? Well I've finally got some free time to myself now that my finals are all over and my pledging process is over. I should be cleaning out my car right now because it kinda smells (strangely it smells like butter), and also the trunk of my car is filled with various things that shouldn't be there, like pancakes, a dress, a victorias secret bag, a parking meter cover, and other random stuff. Just an update on this, its like a few days after I started writing this blog and I kinda did clean out the trunk of my car already. It no longer smells like butter, and I found out that it smelled like butter because of those previously mentioned pancakes. The only thing left in the trunk of my car is the victorias secret bag because yeahhh I don't know what to do with it.

I also mentioned that my pledging process is over and yeah I'm pretty happy about that because I crossed over. Everything has been almost perfect these past few months and deciding to pledge for AphiO has been one of the best decisions that ive made my entire life. Ive made many friends and many new memories through this whole process and crossing over has been one of the best moments of my life. Usually I'm not really an emotional guy but when we were crossing over as a pledge class, tears came to my eyes and I just started crying because I was happy for everyone. Also the banquet we had after our activation was pretty fun. The skit we did went along alot better than I thought it would and also I think everyone was happy with their gifts. I really was happy with the stuff my big sib got me and I can't thank her enough for it. The sweater was exactly what I wanted lol and the paddle is really cool cause its kinda unique cause of the colors. So yeah my whole AphiO experience has been one of the best things ive done in my life and theres way too many people to thank for all sorts of reasons. I want to mention names but theres just way to many people haha. You guys know who you are and what you did so thanks for everything.

So other than AphiO stuff, Ive been busy with other things. A few nights ago i went to the Not So Silent Night concert and it was alright. It really did not live up to my expectations because I didn't get to go down into the floor area. The floor tickets and the seat tickets were the same price so I thought you'd be able to go back and forth but you wern't able to so yeah, not being able to stand up and hop around as I pleased was kinda disappointing. Also the bands didn't put on too good of shows. I really did not like Jacks Mannequin because it wasn't an energetic performance at all, and to be honest the guys voice is even more annoying in real life. Franz Ferdinand did pretty good; they played a few really cool songs but some of their other songs were kinda boring, and their final song was really bad cause of its tempo. Usually as a band, you'd want to go out with a fast paced song because at the end you want people to feel energetic and crazy, because if the whole concert is shitty but your last song is really fun and hyper, then people will think the concert is good, but if your last song is slow and uninspirational, then people will think your concert sucked, andbecause of that I think Franz Ferdinand didn't do so well. Bloc Party was pretty good but not many of their songs were fun. Death Cab for Cutie really killed the whole concert to be honest. They're one of my favorite bands but geez they played a horrible set at the concert. They're a slower paced band so I expected more slower songs like I Will Follow You Into The Dark (which was one of their only good songs that night) but instead they opened up with a bunch of songs that sounded like shitty punk rock with emo vocals. The Killers were the headlining act and they actually did live up to their name. They played a really good set and all of their songs were pretty energetic and entertaining. One of the things about the concert as a whole that really bothered me was the crowd. They really didn't seem into it until the Killers performed and even then the crowd was barely awake. At rock concerts I want to see people jumping and having a good time. I want to see people crashing into each other and the crowd swaying on top of each other all while having a look of pure joy on their faces, and at Not So Silent Night, I didn't see that and it wasn't too fun.

Also this weekend was pretty fun also. I drove down to Satna Cruz to go hang out with Andy and Monica and the rest of them. I got there really really late night at like midnight and we just played Wii till hella late night. Then the next day we went to the mall and hung out there. I got a new pair of shoes so mission accomplished for my feet lol. After that we went and drove around the Santa Cruz campus for a bit. We changed cars from Andy's car to my car because I wanted to drive fast around the campus. The ride was pretty fun and we dove through the campus for hella long. After that we went downtown and we walked around the area. Got some Jamba Juice (White Gummy is hella good) and went to Borders where we learned some new foreign words. After that, we drove down to the Boardwalk and went to the Arcade there. I played soem Air Hockey and some Soul Caliber 2 and then after that we went bowling and Andy beat me lol. We went and got some food after that, and since we were kinda out of money we went to Taco Bell and McDonalds and had some food there. After that we went back to Andy's place and ate there and played a few card games like 13 and Spoons till like 12 midnight. Spoons is hella fun because it just proves how much you don't notice things lol. Then we played Monopoly till like 3am and I actually won which was surprising since I usually get my ass handed to me in that game. Poor Johnny in that game didn't have any property at all lol. Well after that we watched the Dark Knight and we kinda ended up sleeping but then I woke up as Andy was leaving the room so I went upstairs with him and ended up convincing Andy and Monica to sleep downstairs with us. But yeah I wasn't that sleepy and neither was Monica so me and her ended up staying up till 7am playing Tetris. I still only got like 5 hours of sleep cause I woke up around 1 and then we just screwed around at Andy's place till I left and got home around 7.

Well yeah I'm back at home right now and I'm kinda excited for the upcoming few days because I'll finally get to see some high school people I haven't seen in forever. So yeah hopefully now that I have some more time I'll be able to update this blog more often. I really want to keep this blog up because I want to look back on it in a few years and hopefully use it as a window into my previous life but yeah I haven't been able to update as much as I've wanted to. Well this is a pretty long post so I guess it makes up for the past few days lol. So yeah till next time.
