Been far too long

Wow I really haven't had time to update my own blog. I feel pretty bad for not doing this because it feels as if I'm not living up to the purpose of my own blog. But yeah I might as well update this since I actually have a lot on my mind.

There is actually a lot on my mind right now as I'm writing this blog; some has to do with my personal life and some has to do with life in general. I guess I'll write about the life in general part first.

I'll come out by saying this straight up. I think that a lot of the laws in America are not designed to prevent crime to others, but instead to prevent crime to ones self. Mainly, all the laws against drugs, prostitution, euthanasia, and gambling are all total bullshit laws in my opinion. Especially the ones against drugs. I personally feel that people should be able to do what they want to themselves, when they want to. America has been fighting a "war on drugs" ever since the 70's, and I believe that everyone can agree that our war has been a failure, mainly because there will always be a demand for drugs. No matter how many drug users and dealers you take off the streets, there will always be someone there to take their place. For example, in a Texas town, the police committed a raid that arrested all the drug dealers in the town, and for one week, it was very hard to buy drugs in that small Texas town. But since there was a demand for the drugs, new drug dealers moved in within a week and drug selling continued as usual. I just think that the legalization of certain drugs would be the best way to actually win the war on drugs. It would benefit almost everything because we could tax the drugs to help the economy out, and it would also lower crime rates because its not the drugs themselves that make people commit crimes, its the want for drugs that make people commit crimes. I think the main argument against this is the moral argument that if you make these drugs accessible to everyone, then everyone will use them, but one can easily ask the question that, if they made something like heroin legal, would you use it? Something does not have to be illegal to be looked down upon in society. Drugs will forever have that social stigma of being bad and if they are made legal, it will do nothing to take away from that stigma. Also, just look at the legal drugs that we use. How many of us have taken a shot of alcohol to loosen up a bit, or smoked a cigarette to calm down, or even drank a cup of coffee for a quick energy boost? There are so many alternative means that we could use to combat drugs, and our current means are the wrong ones.

And yeah, my personal life just went through a pretty drastic change last night. Things happen though and the only thing I can do is keep the good memories from the past and look forward to making new ones. Even though I'm actually pretty sad right now, I know that theres no point in being sad for the rest of my life, because thats just taking time away from my own happiness.

Oh wells, the reason why I haven't had time to write in my blog recently is because I've been far too busy hanging out with my friends late at night. In these past two to three weeks, I think ive slept in my own bed about 3 times? I'm thankful that a lot of my friends have air mattresses and soft couches, because if not, I'd be suffering from an acute case of sleepyness right now. These have been some really fun nights though, mainly because of the people I've been hanging out with. Its just been super fun and though these past few days at home has been pretty nice and relaxing, I actually can't wait to get back to Hayward and hang out some more.
