Needs Moar Blogging

Its been far too long since I've made a blog post hasn't it. I seriously don't even remember the last post that I did. Probably some bs survey thing from myspace or facebook. Oh wells though, I'm not gonna make any excuses about it this time, I was just too lazy to post. But at least I'm posting up right now ya know. Guess I'm just in a posting mood.

So lets start off with just a quick few updates on whats been happening this school year. School has been alright this year. I started off with 22 units, but I ended up dropping two of my classes because it was just too much, so now I'm down to 14. I dropped Tagalog and Research in CRJA cause it was just too much classes and I wouldn't have had any free time at all if I had taken them. Especially tagalog class. I felt so stupid in that class because everyone else already knew how to speak tagalog, and I didn't, so I felt like the class needed subtitles for me to understand anything. We were like 2 weeks into it and I didn't know a word of tagalog so I was like, yeahhhh screw this. And I dropped the Research class cause it was just way too much. The teacher wanted like a 5 page essay every week and stuff like that. Just way too much work for one class. I'll probably have to end up taking it later on anyways, but I'll take it at a time when I have easier classes haha.

As for the classes I kept, I'm pretty happy with them and I'm not doing that bad in them either. My Thursdays and Fridays are a complete waste though. Thursday I only have badminton and ping pong and friday I have no class at all, so its kinda pointless for me to even go to school on those days. On the rest of the days though, I got my core CRJA (criminal justice adminstration) classes, and those are going just fine. I've been having the weirdest luck with my midterms in those classes. For my Theory class and my Corrections class, I have the same teacher, and supposedly the Theory class is supposed to be super hardcore and like, almost impossible to pass, whereas my Corrections class is supposed to be like, an easy A. I ended up getting the same damn grade on both midterms in those classes. At least it was a passing grade though! Yay for Sean!!! Also, for my other CRJA class, my Victim one, I got so pissed off at my teacher because of her midterm. She was making it out to be an extremely hard test and we needed to memorize all these different powerpoints and slides, so I was kinda scared and for the first time in awhile, I actually hardcore studied for it. Then when the test actually came, it was a 50 question true false exam, and 48/50 of them were false. The entire class was twitching during the exam. "Oh god *twitch* why are there 10 falses in a row *twitch*". And our teacher just stood at the front of them room, arms crossed, smiling ever so slightly. That bitch.

So if you didn't know, I'm living with 4 of the most awesome girls ever haha. Each one of them has their own special thing that makes living with them fun haha. Other than them being just really cool and fun to hang out with in general, they all do something that makes life more interesting. Anne is just purely hilarious with everything shes done, from scissor attacks to laundry mishaps. Mary has the best sound effects and the best laugh in the world, and shes also the funnest person to play video games with haha. Same with Cat haha. Hardcore fighting gamer there. Also Cat's just the most down to earth one in the house, yet shes still the craziest partier haha. Who knows how that works =p. And Shirley, since I know you're gonna read this, you piss me off! But in a good way :). You're actually like a few feet away from me right now as I'm typing this. You're all curled up in your little blanket burrito. I think I can poke your multicolored toes if I wanted to haha. All of you guys are way to fun to not live with, so yay for our house haha.

Also, the house itself is pretty damn kickass. I got the best room in the house haha, biggest one with a fireplace in it. I still needa upload some pictures to facebook so you guys can see the artwork on my walls. Also, the location of our house is totally awesome yo. We live so close to some cool parks and we live close to Union Landing so everything we could ever possibly need is right here at our fingertips. I could WALK to Jollibee if I wanted to. Why yes. I do live in heaven.

And heyyy lets talk AphiO now. Wooooo thats always an interesting subject to talk about haha. Well first off, I have the newest addition into my line yayyyyyyy Dory. You're totally awesome and I'm sure you'll continue being awesome and I couldn't be happier with you so yay haha. The rest of the pledges are really cool also; they've all got pretty cool personalities and I can't wait to get to know the rest of them haha. Being Fellowship again is kinda like a mixed bag. Some stuff goes pretty well and others go pretty bad haha. Its fun though, sometimes =p. Same goes with the PR stuffs. Oh wells though thats kinda like AphiO in general. Its mostly fun with just a few bumps haha.

And with my personal life, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I'm just going along with the flow of life. And I could pretty much leave it at that haha.

Wells, hopefully there will be many more posts to follow this one. I'm actually working on one that isn't about my life, and is actually designed to make fun of a certain group in our society, so watch for that one. But yeah if you read this then thanks :). Hope you liked it?

An Old Story

A few minutes ago, I had one of those sudden urges to document my life in this blog. But, as fate would turn out, my mind has been left completely blank about what to write about. So in order to satisfy my appetite for writing, I'm going to recall an old story, and probably my favorite one to tell.

This story starts during the end of my sophmore year in high school. Some of you guys that are closer to me and that have known me for quite a long time could probably figure out by that first line what story is being told right now, but for others that have recently come into my life, this story is a look into one of the more serious, yet comical times in my life.

In my English class, our final project was to re-enact a chapter out of the book that we had just finished reading, which happened to be a book called "Kindred". If I remember correctly, this book is about a female slave traveling to the past to help out her owner, or something like that. Sorry, 5 years kind of has that effect on the mundane things in ones memory. Well my group decided to make a movie out of one of the chapters in the book, so we met up at this park in Pinole to film. Since I had a feminine figure and long hair at the time, I was naturally chosen to be the female lead in the movie, so my dress went according to my newfound gender. Filming went along smoothly until I began to notice a pain in the left side of my stomach. I thought it was just one of those hunger stomach pains, until the pain became severe and I started throwing up. Imagine a crossdressing boy wearing an oversized dress, hunched over in stomach pains. I must have looked like I was going into labor.

We quickly finished filming and I went home, where my condition became even worse. At this point, my stomach pain shifted from my left side to the right side, and my parents did some research in their medical books and they figured that I had appendicitis, because the whole shifting pain is one of the signs of that. They took me to the hospital that night and in what seemed like a blur, I was admitted to the hospital and became their newest patient. Of course, wearing one of the hospital gowns is one of the luxuries of being admitted to the hospital, except that mine was defunctional, in that it didn't tie together in the back. If you don't understand this, then imagine me wearing a Snuggie with nothing on underneath. No backside coverage. Sorry if thats not really the mental image you wanted to see, but it wasn't really the physical image I wanted to show people either.

I'll let everyone know right now, I had really bad luck with nurses during my hospital stay. I don't think I got one that was competent enough to even be called a nurse. My first nurse at the Richmond Kaiser hospital was this immensely large lady that seemed to have trouble walking. This nurse did pretty much the most horrible thing I've ever had done to me in any of my stays in a hospital. As usual, I had an IV tube inserted into my arm so I could stay nourished. But my tube seemed to get backed up and a mixture of blood and saline fluid became immersed in the tube. So my nurse, decided a good way to get rid of this fluid in the tube AND get rid of the blockage in the IV tube, would be to push the fluid in the tube back into my arm. Can you imagine the feeling of random liquids rushing into your arm? You don't want to. For people that are actually into nursing or doctor type stuffs, is this something you would typically do?

After the doctors took a few blood tests, they decided that I needed to have surgery to remove my appendix because it had become infected. It also turned out that there wasn't a doctor at my current hospital that could operate on me, so I was going to be transferred from Richmond to Oakland. I was actually kind of happy about this, because I'd be able to check off one of the things on my life list, which is to ride in an ambulance. The EMT's that gave me a ride were probably some of the cooler medical people ive met in life. The driver was this guy with some of the biggest muscles I've ever seen. He was able to lift me up into the ambulance using only one arm. The lady that rode along with me in the back of the ambulance was really talkative and made it seem like I was more of a friend than a patient. The lady was pretty resourceful though. My IV tube kept on hitting the side of the ambulance an it was annoying to hear, so due to a lack of tape in an ambulance, she used bandages to patch my IV tube to the side of the ambulance. Hella ghetto right, but I expect about that much from an EMT at the Richmond hospital.

When I arrived at the new hospital, I had to wait for a little while in the reception area, next to the doors that led to a very cold night. While I was here I spied a very cute nurse, and to be honest, like any guy in that situation, I couldn't help but hope she would somehow end up being my nurse, but as stated before, my luck with the nurses wasn't with me as I found myself being wheeled away by an elderly lady that seemed to have problems walking. Well I was finally able to catch some shut eye at this point, since it was about 3 in the morning. I was awoken by my nurse telling me it was time for surgery though, and a few guys came into my room and wheeled me away. To be honest, this whole part of my hospital experience was exactly like how it was in the movies. Hospital lights flashing repeatedly overhead, hospital rooms with lonely people staring off into space, that one random old doctor that seems to know everything and sends you off with a "Good luck kid".

Well I finally arrived in the surgery room, which was actually kind of cool because I'd never seen a room that clean and white before. At this point, the doctors began to prep for surgery and they gave me some gas to put me to sleep. Right about now was where I made a decision that seemed fun at the time, but later came back to punch me in my lungs. I decided to try and stay awake no matter what drugs they gave me, and I guess that motivation caused the gas to not work. So the doctors had to inject me with some unknown fluid that I had no chance of staying awake through. The next thing I knew, I awoke in the recovery room next to some homeless looking guy that was complaining that his knees were still hurting.

I was pretty happy that I was quickly removed from there and placed in another room to share with this one other kid. I felt super sorry for this kid though, because apparently he was having migraine headaches at only 7 years old. He was a really cool kid and I remember staying up that night watching the Digimon movie with him. His mother was also staying in the room with us, and she slept on the couch in the room. Well that night, I had to use the bathroom, and the bathroom was all the way on the other side of the room, so in order to get to the bathroom, I would have to walk right by the kid's sleeping mother. But, if you remember correctly, my hospital gown didn't work the way I wanted it to, so if his mother woke up while I was heading to the bathroom, then she got a full view of something nice to dream about.

Well the next morning, I was feeling very sleepy, even though I got a really good nights sleep after watching that super awesome movie. It was weird because the machine I was hooked up to that was monitoring my heart rate and my breathing and all the things vital to my life, kept on beeping whenever I felt myself being consumed by my dreams. My new nurse, who wasn't very competent, pretty much ignored the beeping and she even put it on silent for a little while. As this was going on, some EMT's came into the room to take away the boy next to me to go get an MRI, but one of the EMT's noticed that my machine was beeping and he noticed me being really drowsy, so he came over to check it out and he immediately said the one line that will forever endebt me to all EMT's. "HEY don't fall asleep! If you do, then you're not going to wake up!!". And I woke up. The EMT went to get a real doctor, and the doctor explained to me that they gave me too much medicine during surgery to put me to sleep, so it made my lungs collapse a little and I wasn't getting sufficient oxygen in my body. I guess trying to stay awake wasn't really the best idea huh? Wells they put me on another machine that was supposed to help expand my lungs again, but still even to this day, it feels as if I lost all my stamina. Sophmore year was the year that I played soccer, and I never got way tired at all during my time on the team even though it was alot of running, but ever since my surgery, I get super tired everytime I play any sport that involves alot of quick bursts of speed. So yay for screwing myself over for the rest of my life. Well, at least I have a life after that haha.

My story gets quickly boring after this though. Other than nearly throwing up in front of a group of new doctors and finally receiving a second hospital gown that I wore over my back like a cape (yeah hospital super hero!!!), the rest of my stay was pretty uneventful. I remember leaving the hospital the next day, and being so not used to walking that I almost fell down while walking to the car. I also remember that very first shower when I got home, and having my mother duct tape a plastic bag to my stomach so that water wouldn't get on my fresh wound. I also remember going back to school to finish out the last week and having my friend greet me by punching me in the stomach. Such great friends back in the day ya know?

Well thats my story. Its probably my favorite story to tell, even though its really long. I usually save it for people when I take them on really long drives and if I need to talk to people to keep myself awake. So yeah have fun reading this story and hopefully I kept you entertained throughout the length of this story.

run.

So its been a VERY long time since i've made an actual post about my life in this blog, so lets do that. This is probably gonna be way out of chronological order since its been awhile ya know.

Awhile back, like awhileeeee back, I got a ticket at campus for making an illegal U-Turn on West Loop Road up at East Bay. To be honest, I had no idea that this was illegal, but only after I got the ticket did I realize that theres 20+ signs on that road that say "No U-Turn". Well I had to go to driving school so that my insurance rates don't go skyrocketing, and that actually turned out to be an interesting experience. It was my second time ever going to driving school for a traffic ticket, due to a previous ticket for running a stop sign, so I kinda knew what to expect. I just didn't realize that I would be that irritated at the end of the day. So many things about that class made me want to punch someone; from the teacher saying things that almost made me scream "youre fucking retarded", to the two old men that sat in the back of the class that wouldn't shut the hell up and thought they were hilarious even thought they looked like mall santa's, and to the old lady that sat next to me that bitched and complained about the format of the questions on a practice quiz, when it was her own fault for not understanding the question in the first place. Then there was the guy that sat behind me who acted like a complete asshole to the driving teacher. Everytime the teacher would ask us a question, the guy would immediately shout out the answer and say something like "come on teacher we're not stupid. you needa speed up the pace of this class". I wanted to turn around and tell his know-it-all Hermoine wanna be self to shut up, but I was too busy sleeping to do so. And then there was the guy that was sitting a few desks away from me. He was a pretty nice guy, smiled alot and agreed with everything, probably cause of lack of english knowledge (sounds terrible but its true), but his one flaw was that his arm hair was thicker than the hair on my head. I couldn't help it, but everytime I'd look at him, I would think that he was a new moon away from turning into a werewolf. To be honest, I really didn't get anything out of the class, because even though most of the people in the class received tickets for speeding, the teacher mainly focused on road rage and defensive driving, which, if you know me or have drriven with me, I have problems with. Fuck defensive driving, I'm an offensive driver.

Well the day after that was the beach event. That actually turned out to be alot funner than I thought it would be. I accomplished one of the goals on my checklist, which was to get rid of my farmers tan. The funnest part of the day had to be going into the water. It was so cold, almost like ice, and the waves were almost twice my height, but jumping into them was pretty fun. Some other rather interesting stuff happened at the beach also, but yeah other than that, it was fun ya know. I'm looking forward to the next event.

Another thing that I've been busy with is orientations at college. We're trying to get people interested in joining our fraternity, so one of the best ways to do this is by hitting up the orientations to get our name out there. I think I'm finally getting over my little fear of going up to random people and just talking to them. Its actually kind of fun to meet these people and get to know them, and hopefully they'll remember me once school starts up.

But yeah now to the main point of the blog, the title. What me and a few friends have been doing every other day has been going to the tracks and running. My new goal for the summer is to get back into the same shape that I was in back in high school. My old mile time was 5:27, and my current mile time rests around 7:30. So hopefully by the end of this summer, I'll be back at at leats the 6 minute mark, if not the 5 minute mark. So yeah here goes. If anyone wants to run with me, then you know how to contact me.

Lazy/Busy Days of Summer

The summer so far has been a strange mix of days. It seems as if my days are either filled with continuous events or that they're filled with continuous boredom.

For example, yesterday was one of those days that was completely filled with things to do. From doing 4 hours of tabling with Helena at a car show with no people to table to, to shopping for a fathers day gift with Helena and seeing her dad while shopping, to eating dinner for Sara's B-Day and stealing some special spoons, and finally going to Nancy's surprise party at Cloverleaf bowl.

Yet today, today is turning out to be one of those days where I just spend the whole day in front of the TV and the computer doing absolutely nothing productive at all. Even though today is Fathers day, me and my dad never usually do anything, and even at the time I'm writing this blog, he's sleeping on the couch. So yeah fun day this is turning out to be.

Tomorrows going to hopefully be one of those productive days. I'm hoping to get my badminton racket restrung and get my I-pod fixed, hence getting some of the stuff on my summer checklist done. So yeahhhh

An Interesting Day

So today, I had an interesting day. One would probably think that all my days are pretty interesting, but trust me I have my boring ones, such as the day I never spoke. But today was an interesting one. One that was more interesting than the others. From almost running over a mattress on the freeway, to buying some bright and flashy girls jeans, and even getting attacked by an old lady; you add all those things together and all you get is interesting.

Today started off as a pretty normal day but I knew it would turn interesting once I got onto the freeway to Hayward this morning. As soon as I merged onto the freeway, I noticed myself coming upon something rather large in the road. I quickly swerved my car into another lane, and thankfully there wasn't another car beside me. I stared in wonder as I raced by a mattress in the middle of the road. The only explanation I have for this is that it probably fell off someones car, because I'm pretty sure people don't take naps in the middle of the freeway.

Things got a little mundane for awhile afterwards though. I went to Acme today to go put some APO letters on my track jacket, but learned that the thick stitching might make it difficult to put letters on. Somewhat disappointing but I'm still going to try and get letters on it. Then I went and drove up the gas guzzling hill to go turn in my parking permit. My old RA was there though so I was like cooooool and I just handed it back to them. Hopefully there won't be any consequences to me turning that in late.

After that though, I journeyed over to the Hayward courthouse to go deal with my driving ticket for that illegal U-turn I busted like two months ago. When I got into the court, there was a huge line for the driving tickets, and I would have been pretty bored if not for me texting all my friends. It made me wonder how it was for people to wait in lines before cell phones were invented. Must have been the epitome of boredom. I wonder if, 30 years from now people are going to be thinking back, "Man it must have been boring for people to only have text messaging". But yeah finally my time arrived to go see the clerk and see what was up with my driving ticket. The lady was really really cool though when I was talking to her. She kept on telling me that she hated the cops too. She eventually scolded me a bit because my driving ticket was satined from water. That got me thinking, "I wonder how my ticket got wet? Its not like the inside of my car is commonly wet." But a second after that thought, I realized that I have water guns inside my car and that I had a pretty drastic water fight with Shirley, Denise, and Matt awhile back so yeahhhhh thats how it got wet. The lady said that my driving ticket was never filed in the system though so that got me pretty confused, because I got the driving ticket a long time ago so I would have though that the police officer would have filed my ticket by now. This basically means that I have to continue to call up the courts just in case the officer decides to eventually file the ticket. Just more hassle for me I guess.

This little trip got very interesting the second I walked out of the court room. Right when I turned the corner to walk to my car, me and this little old hispanic lady startled each other Now if you know me, I'm a pretty jumpy person. So jumpy that Hazina is training me to me less jumpy (two for flinching!). So naturally, when me and this old lady startled each other, I got really startled, and I guess I jumped in a scary manner, because the old lady started screaming at me "GO AWAY DRUG DEALER!!! CRIMINALLL!!". Then she swung her purse out at me! I was like OH MY GOD im getting attacked by an old lady! I said I was sorry and I ran away! I didn't know what else to do so I just ran to my car and got out of there because I didn't want a felony assault charge for attacking an old lady. Cause if I stuck around, then who would the cops believe, me or an old lady.

So after that, I was going to go home and go sleep becuase I was super tired, but after some encouraging from a texting friend, I decided to go to New Park Mall to go look for a job. That turned out pretty successfull though because I got applications from Pac Sun and Anchor Blue and Hot Topic. Hot Topic was pretty cool though, because the jeans ive been meaning to buy from there finally went on sale!! Thing is, I never knew they were girls jeans until today when I bought them so yeah. Yay for buying bright red and dark purple size 5 girls jeans!

Then came the drive home which was memorable because I got to use my bluetooth for the first time! I called up jessica with it and it was pretty amazing to be able to talk on the phone with someone and have it not be completely illegal. But yeah it was worth it driving through hella traffic because Rock Band was waiting at Jessicas house! I really love playing Rock Band because the drums are super fun to play.

The rest of the day was pretty normal though. We went to Pac East mall and ate some Pho and I felt unfufilled afterwards. The Pho in Hayward makes the Pho in Pac East seem like shit because of the huge taste and size difference. After that, we went to Emeryville to go watch Up. It was pretty cool seeing it a second time because I got to catch all the things I missed out on the first time. Like for example, theres a picture of the younger Ellie in Adventure book of her holding up a pidgeon, and on the picture in faded print it says "This is a pidgeon we found. His name is Herbert!". I was just like aww thats cute haha. I want a pet pidgeon now. Especially one that i can take care of and make it look pretty, so that people won't see it as just a rat with wings.

Well here I am at home right now. I'm about to go to sleep right when I finish this blog. Which is probably going to be very soon. Right now I'm staring at a sleeping Shirley. She was supposed to stay awake with me until I finished my blog but nooooooo she just had to fall asleep on me haha. Oh wait she just woke up haha. Now shes asking if she fell asleep. Awwwwww. Haha shirley you're gonna read this later and be like wtfffffffffff sean. Ok whatevers. Yay my blog is done. Goodnight :D

Missing You

So the school year has finally come to an end, and I can truthfully say that this has been one of the most eventful years that I've ever lived. Since I don't really have much to do in the summer other than work and work on some of my personal summer goals, and also since I don't think i'll be hanging out with my old friends this summer, I'm going to miss a lot of things from this school year.

AphiO - Yeahhhh you guys probably knew this one was coming. I'm going to miss all of the things that we've done this year, from service projects like Uhuru and messing with pie dough with Massiel, Annie, and Nancy, and fellowships like all the random sports nights and playing badminton with Cath and having Kevin break my strings. I'll also miss all the random things we'd do, like heading out to Nations or In-n-Out after meetings and kicking it at the bookstore doing people watching. I can't wait for this summer to end so I can spend some more time doing whatever we do in AphiO.

My IC Friends - I really can't wait till next year to see all you guys again. You were all super awesome to meet and I really can't wait till next year so that I can go visit you guys again. My whole goal of being in AphiO is to meet IC brothers, because I believe that even though we are all seperated into different chapters, we're all brothers and we all need to coexist for the organization to succeed.

Car Rides - Even though driving is my biggest pet peeve, I enjoyed a lot of the times that me and my friends spent in my car. Accidentally driving to Oakland with Massiel and Anne, founding the Party Fouls with Anne, Massiel, Casey and Jon Scott, and even having Anne fall asleep on practically every car ride with me (and sometimes in mid-conversation too) have all been times that I'll never forget. One of the few times i didn't drive and had a great time was after Rebuilding Together Oakland when I had to drive with Helena. I still need to upload the video of that car ride because it was too dramatic to even describe. So many near death experiences and Helena's random noises and Oliver doing what he normally does in cars. Even though I hate driving, I enjoy riding with people that tend to make driving interesting.

Hangouts in Santa Cruz - Santa Cruz really turned out to be the place to be this year. It was hella fun hanging out with Monica, Andy, and Steph down there in SC. I liked how there was never a dull moment hanging out with them. Also, hanging out with AphiO in UCSC was super fun because of their new chapter and my little sib down there! I hope that they become an official chapter soon!

Rampaging the School - A lot of the destruction around the school was caused by us. I hope nobody reads this and gets us in trouble for it but yeah it was super fun causing some havoc on campus. Putting traffic cones in random places, like the tops of buildings, and making a road block in the middle of campus that lasted for a few days are just a few of the things that we did. Also, stealing traffic cones and using them to save parking spots and stealing signs just for the hell of it was super fun. Yeah destruction! Yeah first steps to ruling the world!!!

Late Night Walmart - Walmart turned out to be one of the most unlikely hangout spots this year, and all the funnest times seemed to come in the middle of the night. It became normal for us to head to Walmart in the dead of night and just have an adventure. From a tired deliriousness eating at McDonalds there and reading the strange sayings on the cups "MMMMM to AHHHHH is MMMMAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!" and also Richanne's Triforce (Matt you better remember that), to walking around the aisles with Matt squirting lotion, hair gel, and whatever else that caused a mess (and almost hitting ghetto looking people with pillows), and getting almost kicked out for playing catch with a baseball in the middle of an aisle. Everytime we'd go to Walmart, we'd always end up having an unforgettable time.

Trips to San Jose - We'd usually travel down to San Jose for a visit to Gamme Beta, and those visits are always fun, but we'd go down there for plenty of other reasons also. Kahoo Ramen is steadily turning into one of my favorite restaurants because of the awesome tasting ramen, the great service, JaM music playing in the background, and the stealable pens. Also, hanging out at Kevin Lowe's house till the late night and playing Buzz TV and Rockband (Team Awesome and Team China!) was super funnnnnnn.

Sleeping at Sara's - So for the last few months of school, I basically abandoned my own dorm and slept around. That sounds terrible but for the most part, I spent my nights at Sara's dorm. Late night movies, comfortable air mattresses, Team 3's nighttime antics "Sean you look hungry"//"Where's Matt?"//"Grrrrrrrrraaaawwwwwrrrr", and the mini parties all made Sara's place the best place to be at night. I can't thank her enough for letting me live at her place for the past few months.

The People that won't be Coming Back - Massiel, you were probably the most cheerful and enthusiastic person I knew at school. I'll always remember you going "YEAH!" or "YAY!!!" after every good thing and for being one of the ones I went to for help when we were pledging together in WK. Jon Scott, I'll remember you for having one of the best and most interesting personalities out of all the people I've met in the world. I think you have a lot of great ideas about everything and yeah, to be honest I started looking up to you near the end of the year. Kelly, you were superrrr cool and I wish I had gotten to know you better. We never finished our "interview" hahaha. Hopefully one of these days we will!

Friends - Oh man you guys have all turned into hella good friends. I really shouldn't even have to write down why I'll miss these guys. I feel like I got taught sometime from every single person I met this year. Like, I learned how to do my laundry cause of Hazina, I learned how to cook cause of Sara and Conde, I learned how to always have an exit cause of Justin; the list goes on and on. Just so many of you had a direct impact on my life so yeah, thanks alot :]

Hazina - Aww Best friend forever and ever and ever! I'm gonna miss your randomness and the ability to make me laugh. You were one of those people that I could never be sad around and thats one thing that I'll miss this summer and that I'll look forward to next year!

Matt - I don't really care if people are gonna call us brokeback for this, but ima miss you this summer! I think you've made me change my vocabulary so much this year. You were hella cool as my Co for Fellowship this year and I don't think I could have done it without you. I know ima probably see you a lot this summer but whatevers ima still miss hangning out with you and making really random jokes about really random things.

Regina - Ahhhhhhh you were super cool this school year. I don't think a day went by without me and you ending up laughing hysterically at some really stupid thing. You turned into the one that I talked to the most about my issues and I'm gonna miss that this summer cause you'll be in GUAM!! But yeah I'm looking forward to next year Co :D

Shirley - I know you told me not to make one for you, but I am. So hah. And thats all you get. You know why you're special =] <=== look its your smiley face haha

So yeah, the last year was really fun and as you can probably tell, ima miss it a lot. So heres to the summer and heres to making even more things that I'll miss next summer haha.

Been far too long

Wow I really haven't had time to update my own blog. I feel pretty bad for not doing this because it feels as if I'm not living up to the purpose of my own blog. But yeah I might as well update this since I actually have a lot on my mind.

There is actually a lot on my mind right now as I'm writing this blog; some has to do with my personal life and some has to do with life in general. I guess I'll write about the life in general part first.

I'll come out by saying this straight up. I think that a lot of the laws in America are not designed to prevent crime to others, but instead to prevent crime to ones self. Mainly, all the laws against drugs, prostitution, euthanasia, and gambling are all total bullshit laws in my opinion. Especially the ones against drugs. I personally feel that people should be able to do what they want to themselves, when they want to. America has been fighting a "war on drugs" ever since the 70's, and I believe that everyone can agree that our war has been a failure, mainly because there will always be a demand for drugs. No matter how many drug users and dealers you take off the streets, there will always be someone there to take their place. For example, in a Texas town, the police committed a raid that arrested all the drug dealers in the town, and for one week, it was very hard to buy drugs in that small Texas town. But since there was a demand for the drugs, new drug dealers moved in within a week and drug selling continued as usual. I just think that the legalization of certain drugs would be the best way to actually win the war on drugs. It would benefit almost everything because we could tax the drugs to help the economy out, and it would also lower crime rates because its not the drugs themselves that make people commit crimes, its the want for drugs that make people commit crimes. I think the main argument against this is the moral argument that if you make these drugs accessible to everyone, then everyone will use them, but one can easily ask the question that, if they made something like heroin legal, would you use it? Something does not have to be illegal to be looked down upon in society. Drugs will forever have that social stigma of being bad and if they are made legal, it will do nothing to take away from that stigma. Also, just look at the legal drugs that we use. How many of us have taken a shot of alcohol to loosen up a bit, or smoked a cigarette to calm down, or even drank a cup of coffee for a quick energy boost? There are so many alternative means that we could use to combat drugs, and our current means are the wrong ones.

And yeah, my personal life just went through a pretty drastic change last night. Things happen though and the only thing I can do is keep the good memories from the past and look forward to making new ones. Even though I'm actually pretty sad right now, I know that theres no point in being sad for the rest of my life, because thats just taking time away from my own happiness.

Oh wells, the reason why I haven't had time to write in my blog recently is because I've been far too busy hanging out with my friends late at night. In these past two to three weeks, I think ive slept in my own bed about 3 times? I'm thankful that a lot of my friends have air mattresses and soft couches, because if not, I'd be suffering from an acute case of sleepyness right now. These have been some really fun nights though, mainly because of the people I've been hanging out with. Its just been super fun and though these past few days at home has been pretty nice and relaxing, I actually can't wait to get back to Hayward and hang out some more.

I just realized that I never did post up a new blog entry did I? Well I'll just make this one short and sweet I guess. These past few days have been pretty awesome. A lot of unexpected people have been showing up to the fellowships we've been putting on and its just awesome seeing the turnout. It makes me feel as if people are actually enjoying the events that me and Matt are putting on and in turn, it makes me feel like I'm actually doing my job right. I've just felt really good these past few days cause of things like this, so yeah thats it. Short post right? :)

T.O.A.S.T.S.O.N.G

Hey guys, so this past weekend was our long awaited AphiOZ retreat, and I'm not ashamed to say that my opinions were wrong about the retreat. I'll be honest, I really did not want to go to the retreat because I felt that we were putting way to much planning into it and that we wern't gonna have fun even if we did a bunch of activities. I was happily surprised at how well it turned out to be though, and all you guys that didn;t end up going missed out on a wonderful experience.

When I woke up on Friday morning, I was pissed off. I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep that night because I was out and I didn't have my car so I couldn't get home early. I literally woke up and was like "FUCK this retreat hella FUCKING early making me wake up at 6AM on a saturday morning ughh FUCK aphio!" I was still pretty pissed off when we got there in the morning, cause it was hella windy and cold there! We were all wearing sweaters, but we might as well have been naked cause the wind cut right through everything. It all started to change though once it got warmer because then we could actually move around and do things instead of just sitting in fetal position trying to gain warmth. We started off pretty strong by playing steal the bacon, which was surprisingly tiring and then after that we attempted to go swimming. The water was amazingly cold though so that wasn't very succesful, but Mo and Mossy made it out to the island in the middle of the lake, which was pretty cool since I couldn't even get my head under the water. After that we wrote letters to our future selves which was interesting cause I actually had alot to write about. I basically just tanned myself and wrote at the same time, which might not have been the best idea because now my shoulders are a little burnt. The day ended with everyone just hanging out and having a pretty nice evening around the campfire, until one by one we all retired to bed.

The next day was pretty nice for me. I think I was one of the few to actually get a good nights sleep, and I ended up sleeping in until pretty late. I thought I would have had an uncomfortable night because I only had two blankets and no true pillow (i used roscoe the turtle as my pillow), but I had a really good sleep and I ended up sleeping in till around noon. I awoke to everyone packing their things up, and when that was finished we all went and played catch with the slingshots that Annie made for us. 3/4 of the slingshots were broken by the time we were done, but no hearts were broken because we had hella fun shooting tennis balls at each other.

It was a pretty interesting experience and one that I won't forget soon. Even though I came out of this trip with my bedsheets smelling like bbq, my shoulders burnt (by the sun), and my fingers burnt (by fire), it was still really worth it to head out there for the retreat. Can't wait till the next time we go on one.

Social Experiments

Hey guys. I'll be honest with you, I really like performing experiments on people. That sounds terrible, but it's also one of the most entertaining things you can possibly do. If I could get a job in the future that just payed me to do random experiments on people, then I'd be perfectly happy with my life. Here's a few random things I want to do in the future.

This experiment revolves around a person seemingly lying unconscious on the street, and seeing if people walking by that person will check and see if the person is alright. The variables in this experiment would be the attire that the person lying unconscious would be wearing. The person would be dressed in ways such as business, casual, formal, homeless, and half-naked. Also, the person would probably lie down on the street in a way that implies that something is wrong with them, such as lying in the middle of the sidewalk in an awkward position. The purpose of this experiment is to see if people are more helpful towards people dressed in a socially acceptable manner, or if they are more likely to help those that are outcasts to society. Naturally most people would think that people would help the people dressed in a socially acceptable manner, but don't we help out the homeless all the time, in ways like homeless shelters and even just giving them some spare change? I just want to see if society contradicts itself in a more personal situation, because as a whole, we like to put on the front that we do everything we can to help those that are needy, but I wanna see what people do when they're given the problem face to face.

The main problem that I see with this experiment is that, rather than people focusing on the attire that the person is wearing, they'll just walk by the unconscious person thinking that somebody else has already gotten help for that person. Our society has a mental issue that prevents us for getting help for people if we think that somebody else will get help for them, or if we think that somebody has already gotten help. For example, there was a crime awhile back in which a woman was brutally stabbed and murdered outside of an apartment building. Now this is a stabbing, and this is no quiet process. The residents of the apartment building reported hearing the screams and cries of the woman, but the thing is, not one of them called for help. Each resident thought that another resident would call the police, but in the end nobody did until it was too late. People in our society don't want to take on extra responsibility if they feel it can be avoided, and this thought might hinder my findings a bit.

Another experiment that I want to do, once again has to do with people not accepted by society. This experiment has to do with street musicians. I want to go to a busy street corner were street musicians usually congregate, and have two people perform there at different times. One performer would be a child, well-dressed, but terrible at their instrument, whereas the other would be a grown adult, homeless in attire, but extremely brilliant at their musicianship. Who would get more money for their playing? I don't really have a hypothesis for this issue, but if I had a gun to my head and I was forced to pick, I'd say the child would get more money because, they're a child and people are more sympathetic to children than the homeless.

Ok thats it for now. Alot of really random writing on this post-midnight night :)

My House

Hey all, so this is a post I've been wanting to do for a long time now. I want to map out how I want my future house to be, room by room.

One of the main things I want my future house to have is a music room. I guess this place would probably be the place where I spend all my time trying to unwind after stressful days. One of the ways I relieve stress is to sit down and either play my own music or listen to something calm. I would also have an assortment of instruments to play in this room, and maybe even have some stuff to record music. The design of the room would be very simple, yet still have a touch of my own personal design. I'd paint the walls all white, and in each corner of the room, I'd draw a musician playing an instrument. For example, in one corner of the room I'd draw a guitarist playing a song, and having musical notes floating up and away from the guitar, but instead of just leaving it at this generic image, I'd have the notes get smaller and smaller and eventually float up into the ceiling and the upper walls of the room, which would basically be like a murky lake filled with musical notes, but instead of it all being just cluttered notes, there would actually be sheet music painted onto the ceiling and the walls, kind of as if the musical notes played by the musicians are evaporating and forming clouds of sound, which is exactly what playing music is. I know this is different than what I originally had planned to do with my music room, which was to line the walls with old and influential records, but I think this idea would fit the setting better, because its a place for new sounds to arise, not for old ones to be reminisced upon.

For my childs room, I plan on having the same design no matter what gender the child is. I'd line the walls with the pages of all the old Dr.Seuss books. I grew up on these books, and I believe that every child should read at least a few Dr.Seuss books in their lifetime. I still remember the very first book that I ever read was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and I also remember first reading that book as a child. I don't know how I can remember this because I was very young when I first began reading (maybe around 2 or 3?), but I can remember sitting under the window of my room reading the book out loud to myself, and having my mom walk by and wonder at the fact that I was reading. Also, the mosiac of colors created by all these different pages on the walls would literally render my child in awe and shock. Children need to be occupied by something, and whats better than having the walls of their own room entertain them?

A few hallways of my house would be lined with paper. Normal butcher paper. This would be for my friends to make artwork. I've noticed that people love to draw things for their friends, such as a random doodle in their notebook or a Facebook graffitti. I just think it would be really cool to have my friends leave their own mark on my house. Looking at each personalized piece of artwork and being reminded of that friend and all the great times we had together would always be sure to brighten up any bad day. I also think that it'd just be fun to do you know. People could come over my house with the expectation to draw on the walls, almost like a coordinated effort to be a little kid with crayons and an innocent smile.

The idea I have for my kitchen is probably the most basic, yet the most useful and practical one out of them all. Why not paint recipies for your favorite dishes onto the walls of your kitchen for easy access when you want to cook? I would also mix if up a bit, and put alot of random recipies for dishes that I'd want to try up on the walls also. This sounds a bit basic and boring to be a part of my house, but I'd spice it up a bit by also dividing up sections of the walls into different types of food recipies, and then make all those recipies one color, so it would look like a bunch of colored squares and rectangles covering my kitchen walls, so I'd be able to cook in a bright and colorful place.

My living room would probably be the most generic room in the house. Its a living room, so I'd put in all the things here that make me feel alive. I'll be honest though, the only things that make me feel alive are my friends, so I'd probably put up alot of pictures of my friends. I'm still debating with myself as to whether or not to draw my friends out or put up real pictures of them, because if I draw them, it would make my hallways kinda useless, and if I put real pictures of them up, then it'd be creepy to have hundres of faces staring at you as you walk into a room. Actually I just got an idea while writing this. Instead of just filling every gap of the walls with pictures, I'd make designs out of the pictures, like make stars or musical notes and hearts out of the pictures and just line the walls of my living room with that. Of course I'd also have my own entertainment center in here also, hopefully with a nice TV and sound system to back it up. The couches in my living room would be futons, because we all know that there will be times when a friend will need a place to crash and recover.

For my master bedroom, I want to keep this room the most simple out of them all. It'd be a place for me to just relax and sleep. The only really defining part of my own bedroom would be that I'd line the celing with those glow in the dark stars. If you ever see me out at night, you might catch me staring up at the stars. I'm one of those people that can just get lost in the stars, because I can just look up at them and find my mind to be cleared. When I was younger, I used to go outside during the night and just stare into the dark night sky and use this time to think about my life. It was during one of these midnight journeys that I decided to stop being a delinquent and do something with my life. An alternative to doing this would be to have the part of the celing above my bed be made out of glass, and then I could stare up at the real night sky.

Sorry guys, but my bathroom would be like an ordinary bathroom. I don't like being distracted by anything while being in there haha.

As for the outside of my house, I'd leave it completely ordinary as well. Why? Because if you see a house that looks strange and unique, you'd expect it to be strange and unique on the inside as well. But if you see a house thats normal on the outside, and right when you walk into it, you see something that totally blows your mind, then I feel it'll have more of an impact if you see something you wouldn't expect to see.

So yeah guys thats my future house. I hope that you guys won't forget me in the future, and you'll come and visit me in my future home, and hopefully leave me behind a drawing haha.

Breaks always seem to fly so swiftly away

Hey all, time for a real blog post rather than something random. I'm not really in that great of a mood right now, and you'll probably find out the reason later on in the post, but I'll try to make this as entertaining as possible.

I don't really know where to begin with this blog. I guess I'll just start from my recent trip to Santa Cruz and then just go from there. So yeah, I went to Santa Cruz again this weekend. Its starting to turn into such a common thing for me to go there that its not anything special anymore, although whenever I go there I always seem to have some of the best times of my life. I feel really bad though cause I kinda flaked out on some of the UCSC AphiO people there, cause I contacted a few of them beforehand, but I didn't contact them at all when I got there. Sorry guys but I was a bit more busy/lazy than I thought I would be, but next time I'll hopefully see you guys for sure.

I really don't remember what I did down there in Santa Cruz. I know I slept alot at times and I slept very little at times, and I know I ate alot also. It sounds boring and just like a typical day, but the people down there just make the normal things in life that much better. It makes me wish that I had gone to that school instead of my own, but then again my current school has shaped me into who I am right now.

I do remember one thing aboout going down to Santa Cruz though, and thats being dragged to the Twilight DVD midnight release party by Monica. I was actually supposed to name this blog "The worst 30 minutes of my life" because of that whole experience, but I won't be that mean. The party was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but there were still some crazy fans that showed up. I actually got to watch the movie that night also, and I found it to be hilarious. Alot of the scenes in the movie just made me crack up. To be a bit serious though. the movie could have been alot better, because I know that if I hadn't read the book beforehand, then I would have been really lost during the movie.

Well I left Santa Cruz on Saturday, and I enjoyed the 2 hour drive back up to San Pablo. I usually hate driving, but that 2 hour drive was really nice, because it gave me time to think about who I want to be. The rest of the day was pretty nice though; I just chilled at my house and rested my old self. I remember getting home and having my parents ask me to clean the backyard, and also having them tell me that they didn't have any food cooked because they didn't think I was going to come home that early. Yay for coming back home haha.

Sunday was the day that I planned out as a little spring break get together for some of the people back here. T'was the day we were gonna head down to San Jose and go to the Asian American Film Festival down there. I picked up Monica at bart at around 3, proceeded to show her my not-so-ghetto house and neighborhood, and then we drove to Jessicas house to play some Rock Band. We gathered up the whole group at around 6 and headed over to Hayward to go eat at one of my favorite restaurants over there, Red Chili. Alex joined us for dinner which was pretty cool cause its always pretty rare to see him anywhere. Aft dinner we drove to San Jose to watch the movie, but by the time we got there, we were already 20 minutes late, so we went to another theater and watched a movie called Tokyo!, which was 3 short films all revolving around the city of Tokyo. It was a really good film and I suggest everyone to go check it out.

Today also started off as a pretty good day. I got to spend a little extra time in bed today and I'm finally starting to feel that I'm getting over this little sickness thats been bothering me for the past few days. I took Oliver on a few errands today and after that I ended up heading to Berkeley to go hang out with some AphiO peoples. We just walked around a few of the stores over on Telegraph, but then I got tired and I decided to go back home early. As I was walking back to my car, I walked by Elaines boba shop and lo and behold, she was actually there. I had a nice little conversation with her, but I had to go cause my car was parked in one of those timed spots and I didn't want to risk getting my second ticket from Berkeley. But yeah then the total shit part of today happened. As I was driving home today, this bus pulled up next to me as I was stopped at a red light. I didn't think much of it until I noticed that the bus was one of those double sized ones and it was making a turn. So the bus began to make its turn, and all I could do is just sit there in my car watching as the edge of the bus got closer and closer to my car until the inevitable happened. Now the whole side of my car is scraped up and dented because of a bus drivers incompetent driving. Its all part of life though, so I can be as pissed off about it as much as I want to be, but its not gonna change the fact that it happened so whatever.

I don't know whats been going on this past month. Its like my life is on a roller coaster; everytime I have a really good time somewhere, something always happens that brings me back down. I just hope that this roller coaster ends up on a straightaway when I'm up at the top.

Mom, wheres my life?

I saw a TV commercial today, and it was another one of those commercials that I believed to be insanely stupid. Whenever a commercial inspires me to think deep thoughts about how dumb it is, you know it has to be pretty bad.

So the commercial kinda goes like this. Some children and a man all yell out asking their mom/wife where a certain item is. Then the commercial shows the boy going into the kitchen and opening up the refrigerator, and taking out some food. Then the voiceover goes and says something like, "Now, you'll never have to rely on your mom ever again when you're looking for something." First of all, I never knew that looking for a refrigerator would be something that takes time an effort. I mean, its pretty stationary in your house you know. Also, I'd hope that you wouldn't misplace the food IN your refridgerator, or else you'll be able to locate it pretty easily in a few weeks with your sense of smell.

The main thing that got me thinking about this commercial though, had to do with the first part with the children asking their mother where a certain item was. Lets face it, we've all yelled out that line "MOM wheres my blah blah blah?" And you mom will almost always yell back with a location or something like that, and then your mother just sits there and smiles contently, taking all the credit for having a great photographic memory. NO this is totally wrong. Do you want to know why your mom knows where everything is? Do you want to know why you couldn't find it in the first place? Its because you mom MOVED IT! If you ever leave anything out in the living room, then it is liable to be moved someplace where you'll never see it again unless your mother tells you. Your mother somehow sees every part of the house as her territory, so she sees fit to arrange it as she pleases, of course without telling you that shes doing so. Countless times have I come home during a 3 week absence, only to walk into my room as a stranger.

So next time you have the feeling to yell out "Mom where's my blue sweater?", you should change your wording to "Mom, where did you put my blue sweater?"

Book Review - Twilight

Hey guys, so some of you probably know that I've been reading Twilight for the past few days. I was mainly reading it just because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about the book. A lot of my female friends had been telling me that they loved the book, and I've been saying that I hated the book for awhile now, so I decided to actually read it just to find out if I actually have a basis for my hatred of the book. I basically want to see if I'll still not like the book even after i've read it. So this is basically just my review of the book now that ive completed it.

So, I'll be honest, I picked up the book expecting it to be really bad. I know its not right to go into something so biased because its gonna affect how I feel about the book at the end, but still theres no helping that fact. I originally saw it just as a book with little storyline and just sexy main characters, which actually isn't quite true about the book now that I've read it.

There are basically two explanations that people have given me or that I've randomly heard, as to why they like the book so much. One is that people can relate to the main character Bella, and the other is that they're really in love with the other main character Edward. After reading the book, its so easy to see why.

I actually came out with a better impression of the book than I did before I read it, but thats probably because I hated it so much at first, that my opinion of it could have only improved. The first half of the book is near torture to read, yet it also explained to me why so many of the books readers can relate so much to the main character. The first half of the book takes a very close look at the life of Bella, and its very hard not to be blunt here, but shes one of the most emo characters I've ever read about. Just the way she acts completely annoys me, because shes one of those people that apparently hates everything about their life, yet does nothing at all to improve it. She wallows in her self-pity throughout the first half of this book, because she can't enjoy anything in her life. Everything for her is like "Oh theyre doing this for me. Well whatever I don't care." I lost count of how many times I wanted to slap her and make her open her eyes. The thing is, I can totally see a typical teenage girl relating to her and feeling the way she does.

The second half of the book gets alot better actually, but its probably because the first half of the book was complete bs to read. The second half of the book was pretty good, except when Bella and Edward were alone talking. I couldn't stand to read their lines to each other. It was like reading the script to a soap opera. Everything was overblown and full of cheese. Another thing I hated about Edward AND the author for doing this, is that she made everything he did seem way too dramatic, and it makes normal guys look bad. A lot of the stuff Edward did that sounds oh so beautiful in the book, is stuff that typical guys do, just we don't make it so obvious or we don't even realize that we're doing it.

The storyline to this book actually got a little interesting near the end. When Bella was being tracked by the othe Vampires, I was like "hey theres actually a little action going on now. OH and hey bella might die! thats always a plus!". The book actually captured my attention at that point, but then it ended with more Bella/Edward novelties, but then again the ending did leave the story open in an interesting yet very predictable way.

In all, the book gave me a better understand of the whole craze behind it, and I'll be honest, I don't really hate it as much as I hated it back then, but I still think its a pretty bad book. The writing itself could have been alot better; it was just really awkward to read at times. Hardly any imagery or descriptions, other than physical descriptions of the vampires (which aren't even real vampires to be honest). So yeah thats my two cents about Twilight. 2/5

Hi my name is Sean and I am Awesome

Alright so my friend Jess basically forced me into doing this blog. She originally wanted me to write about how sexy I am but I decided that was a bit too extreme haha. I'm just gonna turn this blog into a short little bio about myself since I don't think ive done anything like this yet for this blog. I originally wanted to be pretty secretive about my blog but I don't really care anymore about revealing who I am, since its not like ive been too secretive about it anyways right? If you've been checking my facebook status updates then its all like "YEAH new blog!" so I'm like whatever about it now. I'm only doing this cause Jess is a pretty good friend of mine; shes one of the only purely MS friends that still talks to me and shes also the one that I tell almost everything to, so yeah this ones cause of her. Expect this blog to be alot less formal than most =p

So hi guys, my name is Sean Galen Harris. Yep, thats my full name. I have no idea why or how my parents gave me my first and middle name, but to be honest I don't like either of them haha. I guess my first name is pretty cool cause its unique, but alot of people either can't spell it right or they mispronounce it when reading. Far too many teachers have said 'Is Seen here in class today? Seen?". Ughh its one of those *facepalm* moments for me. Does anyone else have any problems with people screwing up their names? I know theres some people out there with far worse names than me.

Well right now I'm currently age 20, and my birthday is October 19, 1988. So I'm almost there to 21. Once I actually get to that age, I basically have no more birthdays to look forward to. Its as if my life ends when I get to that age. I'm just gonna keep on getting older as the seconds tick by, so I might as well get as much done as possible now while I can. I think thats the reason why I fill up my life with so much. I want to be as busy as possible, because for me, being busy is a sign that I'm actually doing something with my life.

So right now I'm a Criminal Justice major at CSUEB. Yeah I don't really know what I'm doing with that major. I originally was a Biology major and I was gonna do forensics, but then I hit all of those really hard chemistry classes and I switched my major because I knew I couldn't pass them. So right now i'm looking into criminal justice because I still want to be involved in putting away criminals and/or rehabilitating them. I guess it'd just be my way of giving back to society.

So right now the main thing in my life is probably Alpha Phi Omega, my beloved fraternity. Even though it has its ups and downs, its still one of the best things to ever happen to me. Right now I'm currently 1/2 VP of Fellowships, which basically means I get to plan all of the fun stuff. Ive met so many new people and I know some of them are going to be friends for life. Another cool thing about it is that theres chapters at almost all the schools around here, so I can go to any school around here and immediately know people. I love meeting people from other chapters because they're super awesome!.I have the time of my life when I'm with people from other chapters. I realize that even though my own chapter needs some help right now, I want to focus on building the bonds between our chapter and other chapters, because to me thats a good way to help rebuild our own chapter.

Music is another one of the huge things in my life. it effects me to the point that a good song can brighten up my day. I also play a myriad of instruments, mainly guitar and bass though. I'm pretty shitty at guitar compared to some people i know, but then again I'm not the worst one out of the bunch so I don't really care. I really do love music though; I see it as a reflection of how the artists was feeling at the time. Even if i don't undersatnd the lyrics to the music, I can still udnerstand the meaning to it by understanding how the music makes me feel.

Right here I would usually describe my interest in skateboarding and breakdancing but to be honest, I hardly do either anymore. I skateboard like, once in a blue moon and I only do toprocks with breakdancing now so its like ughh. I really hate to label myself as stuff like that nowadays because its not really me.

Speaking of changing myself, thats one of the things I'm going to do to myself. To be honest, even though on the outside I may seem like a pretty good person, I'm not. I don't really think I have a heart haha. But I will grow one and my old self is going to fade away into the past. I'm literally going to be throwing my old self into the fire in the upcoming days so hopefully I can do this.

Yet Another Weekend in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is steadily turning into one of the places I visit most frequently. The city will always hold a special meaning to me, yet not for the reason many would think. My cousin Jeremy, who was the very first person in my immediate family to graduate from college, graduated from UCSC. My cousin is the biggest hero in my life, basically because of how well he speaks and how well he brings people together. Whenever I visit Santa Cruz, I always think of my cousin and I wonder how he's doing all the way on the other side of the country and I get to reminisce about my family. This is what I usually think about when I'm driving to Santa Cruz, so whenever I go there I always arrive with a sense of confidence because thats the feeling that my cousin evokes from my soul.

I arrived in Santa Cruz pretty late that night, and we all ended up playing video games till pretty late that night. I wanted to get a good nights sleep because the next day was a pretty important day for me. I was to head over to the UCSC campus and meet up with the chapter of AphiO there and help them out by adopting one of them as a little sib. Their chapter is rechartering and they needed big sibs for their members, so I decided I should go out and help them since I was going to be in Santa Cruz that weekend anyways.

Their event was really fun, albeit a bit disorganized at first. I had a great time finally meeting alot of the UCSC people, because I really hadn't met any of them during other IC events so this was really a great friending experience for me. I met practially everyone in their chapter that day, as well as making new friends from other chapters as well. I made some new friends from University of Pacific which was super cool because I didn't know anyone at all there. Now I can go to both UCSC's meetings and AAXI's meetings and not have it be awkward since I'd actually know people. I'm also really happy with the little sib that I got. He seems really cool and enthusiastic about everything so yeah its all going to work out just fine!

Even though that Saturday already seemed pretty full with the whole BSR, it still wasn't done. When I got back to my friends place, we drove all the way back to San Jose to go hang out at one of the malls over there. Even though they told me the name of the mall about 3 times, I still fail to remember the name of it but it was a pretty huge and nice mall. We were supposed to go eat at the Cheesecake Factory there, but the wait for it was too long so we decided to go to CPK instead. The pizza there is insanely good, even by my standards. I used to work in a pizza shop so my standards for a good pizza are pretty high, but CPK almost always hits that good spot in my stomach.

After that we went on a sort of driving adventure around San Jose. We drove into the place called Santana Row which I immediately recognized as the place Sara, Daisy, and Gisselle dragged me along to just for their frozen yogurt. I hated going to this place at first because I felt so out of place. Everyone walking down the street looked like they were worth a couple hundred thousand dollars more than I did, and even just driving down there this time was pretty disheartening because of some of the cars I saw parked on the sidewalk. I hate seeing people with cars that are worth more than I'll ever make in my lifetime because its just discouraging. I know that I'm supposed to be confident and I'm supposed to aim for whatever I want to, but I'm also a realistic person and I know that just like the stars I always dream of when im stressed, some things will always be out of reach.

The next day turned out to be pretty eventful as well even though we didn't have much at all planned. We originally planned to go to Costco early in the day so we could get some free samples there for lunch, but I guess I woke up too late and we didnt get to go there early. We actually got there at around 3, but to my surprise there were still alot of free samples out! Too bad there wern't that many good ones. Costco's free samples are the one and only reason I love going there, because its a free meal and thats something you can't pass up. They should just give every single homeless person a Costco card. They could just go there and get the free samples when they're hungry. Solves everyones problems.

After Costco and a brief attempt at skateboarding, we headed off to the Boardwalk to go meet up with some friends and we basically just hung out there in the arcade for a little while. We then went to downtown Santa Cruz and walked around the shops there. I don't really remember much of what happened there because I was too focused on trying to stay warm since I forgot to bring a sweater. I just remember somehow ending up with Denny's with this super nice lady as our waitress and having a great meal there. Eventually the night came to a close and I ended up driving back to Hayward. The drive back was exciting because I finally decided to see the capabilities of my car. There was a long straightaway where I was the only one on the freeway, so I decided to just floor it and see what happened. I ended up hitting about 120 before I caught up to traffic. Its weird how when you're going that speed, it doesn't really seem fast but the sound of the road and the engine tell you otherwise. Also, if you slow down to 100, it seems incredibly slow, when normally its way to fast to even fathom.

In all, this weekend turned out to be everything I had hoped for. Thank you to all you Santa Cruz people for always putting a smile on my face. (and for pretty much being my 3rd home haha)
