My House

Hey all, so this is a post I've been wanting to do for a long time now. I want to map out how I want my future house to be, room by room.

One of the main things I want my future house to have is a music room. I guess this place would probably be the place where I spend all my time trying to unwind after stressful days. One of the ways I relieve stress is to sit down and either play my own music or listen to something calm. I would also have an assortment of instruments to play in this room, and maybe even have some stuff to record music. The design of the room would be very simple, yet still have a touch of my own personal design. I'd paint the walls all white, and in each corner of the room, I'd draw a musician playing an instrument. For example, in one corner of the room I'd draw a guitarist playing a song, and having musical notes floating up and away from the guitar, but instead of just leaving it at this generic image, I'd have the notes get smaller and smaller and eventually float up into the ceiling and the upper walls of the room, which would basically be like a murky lake filled with musical notes, but instead of it all being just cluttered notes, there would actually be sheet music painted onto the ceiling and the walls, kind of as if the musical notes played by the musicians are evaporating and forming clouds of sound, which is exactly what playing music is. I know this is different than what I originally had planned to do with my music room, which was to line the walls with old and influential records, but I think this idea would fit the setting better, because its a place for new sounds to arise, not for old ones to be reminisced upon.

For my childs room, I plan on having the same design no matter what gender the child is. I'd line the walls with the pages of all the old Dr.Seuss books. I grew up on these books, and I believe that every child should read at least a few Dr.Seuss books in their lifetime. I still remember the very first book that I ever read was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and I also remember first reading that book as a child. I don't know how I can remember this because I was very young when I first began reading (maybe around 2 or 3?), but I can remember sitting under the window of my room reading the book out loud to myself, and having my mom walk by and wonder at the fact that I was reading. Also, the mosiac of colors created by all these different pages on the walls would literally render my child in awe and shock. Children need to be occupied by something, and whats better than having the walls of their own room entertain them?

A few hallways of my house would be lined with paper. Normal butcher paper. This would be for my friends to make artwork. I've noticed that people love to draw things for their friends, such as a random doodle in their notebook or a Facebook graffitti. I just think it would be really cool to have my friends leave their own mark on my house. Looking at each personalized piece of artwork and being reminded of that friend and all the great times we had together would always be sure to brighten up any bad day. I also think that it'd just be fun to do you know. People could come over my house with the expectation to draw on the walls, almost like a coordinated effort to be a little kid with crayons and an innocent smile.

The idea I have for my kitchen is probably the most basic, yet the most useful and practical one out of them all. Why not paint recipies for your favorite dishes onto the walls of your kitchen for easy access when you want to cook? I would also mix if up a bit, and put alot of random recipies for dishes that I'd want to try up on the walls also. This sounds a bit basic and boring to be a part of my house, but I'd spice it up a bit by also dividing up sections of the walls into different types of food recipies, and then make all those recipies one color, so it would look like a bunch of colored squares and rectangles covering my kitchen walls, so I'd be able to cook in a bright and colorful place.

My living room would probably be the most generic room in the house. Its a living room, so I'd put in all the things here that make me feel alive. I'll be honest though, the only things that make me feel alive are my friends, so I'd probably put up alot of pictures of my friends. I'm still debating with myself as to whether or not to draw my friends out or put up real pictures of them, because if I draw them, it would make my hallways kinda useless, and if I put real pictures of them up, then it'd be creepy to have hundres of faces staring at you as you walk into a room. Actually I just got an idea while writing this. Instead of just filling every gap of the walls with pictures, I'd make designs out of the pictures, like make stars or musical notes and hearts out of the pictures and just line the walls of my living room with that. Of course I'd also have my own entertainment center in here also, hopefully with a nice TV and sound system to back it up. The couches in my living room would be futons, because we all know that there will be times when a friend will need a place to crash and recover.

For my master bedroom, I want to keep this room the most simple out of them all. It'd be a place for me to just relax and sleep. The only really defining part of my own bedroom would be that I'd line the celing with those glow in the dark stars. If you ever see me out at night, you might catch me staring up at the stars. I'm one of those people that can just get lost in the stars, because I can just look up at them and find my mind to be cleared. When I was younger, I used to go outside during the night and just stare into the dark night sky and use this time to think about my life. It was during one of these midnight journeys that I decided to stop being a delinquent and do something with my life. An alternative to doing this would be to have the part of the celing above my bed be made out of glass, and then I could stare up at the real night sky.

Sorry guys, but my bathroom would be like an ordinary bathroom. I don't like being distracted by anything while being in there haha.

As for the outside of my house, I'd leave it completely ordinary as well. Why? Because if you see a house that looks strange and unique, you'd expect it to be strange and unique on the inside as well. But if you see a house thats normal on the outside, and right when you walk into it, you see something that totally blows your mind, then I feel it'll have more of an impact if you see something you wouldn't expect to see.

So yeah guys thats my future house. I hope that you guys won't forget me in the future, and you'll come and visit me in my future home, and hopefully leave me behind a drawing haha.
